Long Beach Summer Movies (updated for 2019)

Any Long Beach resident knows a vital part of every No Bummer Summer is catching a free outdoor movie in a park or beach or anywhere really. Whether you’re looking to check out movies in the park, moonlight movies on the beach, or anything in between, we’ve got tons of listings for free movies in Long Beach, Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, Lakewood, Bellflower, and more. You could probably go to a free movie almost every night this summer –it’s one of the most perfect free summer activities for kids.

Read on to find the LB Littles complete guide to free outdoor summer movies throughout the Long Beach area this summer. Blankets and snacks are highly recommended for every free outdoor movie this summer. To level up load up a wagon with some folding camp chairs too. you won’t regret it.  The films usually start around dusk (8pm or so), though some festivities may get started as early as 5 PM with some pre-movie activities like musical performances, entertainers and food trucks.

We’ve also created handy-dandy image you can either print or save to your phone with all the free movie listings to make sure you don’t miss a single one.

Sure, you can see a few of the upcoming movies below, like Incredibles 2 and ET at places like Granada Beach in Belmont Shore and Moana at Drake Park. Cheap Movies in Theaters

In addition to all the free outdoor movies, both Edwards at LB Towne Center and Harkins in Cerritos offer $1 and $2 movies throughout the Summer. 

Edwards has $1 movies each Tuesday and Wednesday at 10am, and Chick-fil-a offers specials with giveaways or free kids meals (with purchase of adult meal) on those days alongside a movie stub.

Harkins runs movies every Mon-Fri at 9:45am and it’s one flat $5 for one movie a week the entire summer. That’s a pretty great deal. If you opt to drop-in, it’s $2 per ticket.
